Created by Cressi, the world’s oldest underwater diving company, inspired by the immensely successful Gara Professional, itself a fin 5 years in design, research and development, Cressi has built the LD (Long Distance) version for divers who may not possess the finely-tuned athleticism of a professional diver. The LD is specially engineered to exploit and economize your every kicking motion.
Like the Gara Professional, however, the LD is also composed of a non-interchangeable blade that is all-in-one with your foot, an innovation by Cressi to reduce even minimal dispersion of kicking effort. All aspects of fin performance have been taken into consideration including materials, weight, kicking styles water resistance, drag and design style. The result: a fluid, functional, dynamically-styled Made In Italy work of art.
The blade is made from a special elastomer polypropylene which provides a longer lasting, more fluid, softer kick that is less demanding; it’s ideal for covering long distances.
The use of this new engineering plastic is less reactive and nervous than the Compoflex used in the Gara Professional. It guarantees progressive and well controlled blade flexibility which gives an extremely fluid kick. Together with the exceptional lightness and minimal dispersion of effort, you’ll find your kick is more effective and pleasant than ever.
Like the other Gara fins, the Gara Professional LD also boasts a leading-edge industrial production process that guarantees very high standards of precision.
The new shoe pocket on the Gara Professional LD has been designed so that it is positioned under the actual blade. This characteristic, together with a perfect union between blade and foot, contributes to maximum reduction of effort and energy dispersion.
The anatomy of the foot pocket has been re-designed and, if possible, further improved compared to the already much appreciated shoe pockets of the Cressi Gara. The use of a new, particularly soft elastomer further increases comfort. It's about as comfortable as an Italian loafer.
The new Gara Professional fins are for the most demanding amateur or professional underwater spear fishers and free divers who want to further improve and optimize their kicking performance levels.
One reviewer called them "the best fins he's put on in a long time ... a reliable fin, super flexible, super fun in the water ... definitely the fin he could hunt for several hours ... almost felt he wasn't wearing fins, it was so comfortable."
Following the great success of the Gara Professional, Cressi has also thought of those who wish to benefit from all the winning characteristics of the Gara Professional, without having the muscles of an athlete that is trained to full capacity.

Who they are for
The new Gara Professional LD are for all those divers who wish to benefit from the extraordinary performance of Cressi long fins, without, on the other hand, having to use too much muscular effort. For those divers who have not undergone excessive training, the ideal effort-productivity ratio can offer even higher performance than when using the more rigid and reactive Gara Professional.
Perfect for long kicks and for cold water, but also ideal for use with breathing apparatus, where their exceptional propulsion qualities will astound.
